WorkWell West is a government-funded partnership programme helping people with health conditions or disabilities to start, stay and succeed in work. Led by Bristol City Council and working across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, the programme provides tailored support, practical advice and access to local services for people facing health-related barriers to employment.
Xelium worked with WorkWell West on a sustainable marketing materials initiative designed to reduce waste, lower costs and explore more environmentally responsible ways of producing promotional items.
As part of the project, Xelium:
- Researched and tested suitable materials, including recyclable and biodegradable options.
- Advised on redesigning products to use less material while improving strength and print quality.
- Produced a series of prototype items in different materials and finishes for evaluation.
- Helped compare the environmental and financial impact of modern production methods against traditional manufacturing and more.
By combining 3D printing with direct-to-object branding, Xelium enabled WorkWell West to investigate a more sustainable, flexible and economical approach to producing its future marketing materials.
